Your school or group can customize your visit and choose from a number of activities, all of which are listed on our tour form, which includes everything from pressing apple cider (Autumn) to planting an apple tree (Spring) to “homesteading”a frontier cabin. Young folks can even stack a cabin themselves! The morning begins with a musical introduction where students can join the jug band and the songs performed reflect an old time past.

Activities are offered in 30 minute focused rotations (rope making, archery, etc.) or in hour long workshops (square dancing, cabin, etiquette, etc). All classes are designed to be interactive and engage students in learning skills and characteristics of a bygone era.

Our Frontier Cabin experience is our most popular set of activities - all in one place. Young homesteaders cut firewood, wash clothes in a tub, tend the kitchen garden for produce or the campfire to make a pot of coffee or tea, and complete numerous other chores. The cabin stacking area is a favored site where teamwork is employed to erect a notched pine log cabin. Also, we've got plenty of games for the kids to play “when the work’s all done."
